Last week, the first hull of the CDS Dry Cargo 110 for Amer Shipping was launched. We’re working hard to deliver her later this year. She is the first of two in-house developed vessels, measuring 110 by 11.45 meters, designed to carry high tonnage with a shallow draft. This makes her especially suitable for navigation during (very) low water levels — a condition expected to occur more frequently in the coming years.

At the time of signing the contract, Peter Buijks, co-owner of Amer Shipping, stated:
“We have been working for some time on making our daily operations more sustainable. These vessels are a perfect fit for that goal. The CDS Dry Cargo 110 can carry up to 200 tons more cargo compared to an existing 110-meter vessel in our fleet. At the same time, fuel consumption and emissions are reduced thanks to lower resistance.”

All of these factors combined make the CDS Dry Cargo 110 a more sustainable option for inland shipping.
