Pushers

For fast flowing rivers or shallow draught conditions

In inland shipping, it’s important to work with a fit-for-purpose vessel. For some cargo types or river systems a self-propelled barge is the logical choice, for others a flexible push-barge combination is the best solution. That is why our portfolio contains several powerful pushers and workboats.

Tailored to local conditions

Our River Pushers (of in-house design) and Riverbusters (designed by Damen Shipyards) are specifically designed to suit local conditions. Our experienced engineers have conducted extensive research on the characteristics of the most important European and American complex river systems, resulting in the most efficient pusher designs.

Of course, you can choose from a wide range of emission-reducing and even emission-free propulsion systems.

Operate smoothly, even in shallow waters

Our River Pushers are suited to operate in both fast flowing rivers or shallow draught conditions. This allows our pushers – and the push-barge combinations – to operate year-round, even with a draught as low as 6 feet (2 metres), providing a significant advantage over many other push boats on the river. Operating for clients in the Netherlands, Paraguay, Germany and other countries.

Robust
propulsion

Concordia Damen River Pushers and Riverbusters are always equipped with two or three powerful engines, generating a power of 1,000-2,500 kW. This ensures robust propulsion: a solid, everyday workboat for your crew, who can rely on continued performance in various conditions.
