Hull of hybrid work vessel ‘Zeeleeuw’ transported to Werkendam
We are currently constructing a hybrid work vessel for Van Der Straaten Aannemingsmaatschappij B.V., equipped with Volvo Penta generator sets, an HSP electric motor, and an Eco Power battery package. Last week, the transport vessel BigRoll Beaufort departed from China bound for Werkendam, where we will complete the outfitting of the hull.
This marks the first project carried out by Concordia Damen in collaboration with Van der Straaten — and it is an exceptional one. The company, based in Hansweert, is expanding its fleet of vessels and pontoons with a versatile work vessel designed for universal use in hydraulic engineering projects.
Key specifications of work vessel Zeeleeuw:
- Diesel-electric propulsion (Stage V compliant)
- Capability to operate fully zero-emission
- Heavy-duty crane with an 80-tonne metre capacity
- Dimensions: 30 × 8 metres, draught 1 metre
- Two spud poles (20 metres in length)
- Moonpool for geotechnical investigations
- Fully equipped workshop on deck
Delivery is scheduled for this coming summer.
Our team is excited to take on this project and looks forward to bringing it to completion.
